Although it is not paramount, it is helpful to have a basic understanding and knowledge base involving thought disorders, mood disorders and substance abuse. Some patients also suffer from dementia and developmental disabilities. Most patients have been diagnosed for decades and exhibit few outbursts of any kind. Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective and Bipolar Disorders are the most prevalent psychiatric conditions.

New to the patients being treated are issues related to online safety, mobile device technology and social media. Presently, few of the adult residents are being confronted with these problems, but that is changing with each passing year. In addition to helping patients with treatment compliance, symptom management and interpersonal skills dynamics; higher functioning patients are starting to spend more time online. This writer predicts that the chronically mentally ill will increasingly become prime targets for iPredators as the Information Age evolves.

MN Psychological Services, PLLC offers a professional atmosphere with great flexibility and times treating patients. All patient documentation is conducted via the user friendly electronic medical record called TherapyNotes. Clinicians are responsible for completing documentation in a timely fashion and providing quality therapy.  As mentioned above, this writer is always available if you have questions about our practice.
